West Michigan Robotics Invitational

We are so excited to be hosting teams again in West Michigan at the West Michigan Robotics Invitational (WMRI) for the 2025 REEFSCAPE! Below, you will find our event details. We will continue to update this page as more information becomes available and with any changes we make to the event.

Event Details

Date: Saturday, October 18th

Location: Zeeland East High School

Zeeland, MI 49464

Cost: $200 when you register prior to August 31st. Event cost will increase to $250 if you register after the 31st.

Payment: You will receive the payment information and check mailing after your registration is confirmed. Checks must be made out to WMRI/GVSU.

Qualifying for the Event: The event is first come, first serve and we will be hosting up to 32 Teams.

Venue Guidelines

Event Power

  • Power will be provided by the school
  • Do not daisy chain power strips in the pits.  
  • Please bring power strips that have breakers, if possible.
  • Please bring an extension cord to go from the distribution unit to your pit.
  • No crock pots or other electric cookers allowed.  If found, facilities will unplug them and confiscate them.

General Note:

  • Pits will open at 7:00 PM, Friday. 
  • Venue doors will open at 7 AM Saturday
  • Do not park on the grassy areas, regardless of whether or not there are already vehicles on those grassy areas.

Safety Reminders

  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Please tell your visitors that they must wear closed-toe and closed-back shoes and safety glasses when in the pits. 
  • Safety glasses at the safety glasses stations will not be provided this year.  Teams must have their own available.

Event Food

Since we are in the campus arena, Fire Code does not allow us to have items plugged in in the hallways or other areas of the school, no crock pots allowed.  We are also not able to have tables in the hallways due to the code but we will have the cafeteria opened for teams to use. 

On Site Food Options

  • This year we are offering teams the ability to pre-order lunch tickets at $8.50. Tickets will be $9.00 day of the event upon availability.

    The ticket provides the following:
    • Main Entrée (choice of one)
      • 2 pcs pizza
      • 2 hot dogs
      • 1 juicy beef hamburger or cheeseburger with deluxe toppings available
      • 1 pork barbecue sandwich
      • 1 salad (ranch or french dressing)
      • 1 bowl of soup
    • 1 bag of assorted chips
    • 1 large cookie
    • 1 can of pop or bottle of water

To order your tickets, please email the number of needed tickets to Hilda at usfirst@zps.org

Please place your order for total number of lunch tickets by October 12th.  Your lunch tickets will be waiting for you at the registration table upon registering your team in the morning.  For your lunch tickets, cash or checks made out to ZPS can be used to purchase the tickets. Unfortunately we do not accept credit cards.
